Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the said acknowledgment shall be taken
and held to be as valid and sufficient to every intent
and purpose in law, as if the identity of the parties,
grantor therein named, had been duly certified to in
the manner prescribed by the laws of this State ;

provided, nothing in this act contained shall effect the
right of bona fide purchasers without notice, who
became so before the passage of this act.

CHAPTER 47.

Proviso.

AN ACT to authorise and empower the Trustees of
the Parsonage property of the Methodist Episcopal
Church, on Centreville Circuit, in Queen Anne's
County, to sell and convey a certain part of said
property now held by them in trust, and to make
a certain application of the proceeds of sale.

6, 1856.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That William Emory, Senior, Robert
S. Bryan, Samuel T. Harrison, Nathaniel Neavitt,
William S. Price, Thomas Hughey, William F. Par-
rott, Aaron M. Arlett and Clinton Cook, Trustees of
the Parsonage property of the Methodist Episcopal
Church, in Centreville Circuit, in Queen Anne's
county, and their successors in office or a majority of
them, be and they are authorised and empowered to
sell all that part of said Parsonage property called
the old Parsonage property, consisting of a lot of
ground and improvements situated and being in the
town of Centreville, adjoining the lots of John Wil-
kinson and others, containing one-fourth of an acre
of land, more or less, at private or public sale and
for cash or on credits, as to them may seem best, and
the proceeds of sale when received after deducting
the expenses of sale, to apply in payment of the price
or sum of money to be paid by them for the new
Parsonage property, recently purchased by them.

SEC. 2. And be it also enacted, That the said
