AN ACT granting the leave of the Legislature to a
devise made in the last will of Peter Turner, free
negro, of Cecil county, to the Trustees of the West
Nottingham Presbyterian Church, of said county.

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, Peter Turner, free negro, late of Cecil
county, deceased, by his last will and testament, after
providing for the sale of his real estate by his execu-
tor, and the payment from the proceeds of said sale
of his debts and funeral expenses, and for the pay-
ment of a certain legacy therein mentioned, did
give and bequeath unto the Trustees of the lower
West Nottingham Church, the residue of the pro-
ceeds of said estate, to be used by them for the use
of said church; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the leave of the Legislature is
hereby given to carry into effect the devise of Peter
Turner, free negro, late of Cecil county, deceased, in
favor of the trustees of the lower West Nottingham
Church, of said county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the day of its passage.
