AN ACT to continue the corporate powers of the
Maryland Savings Institution for enabling it to
wind up its business, being a further supplement
to the act passed at December session eighteen
hundred and twenty six, chapter one hundred and
eighty nine, and additional to the supplement of
eighteen hundred and forty four, chapter two hun-
dred and eight.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the act to which this is a supple-
ment, and the supplement thereto, be and the same are
hereby continued in force for the term of six years
from the passage of this act, and until the end of the
session of the General Assembly which shall happen

next thereafter; Provided, however, that the said cor-
poration shall not hereby be authorised to exercise
any other powers than those necessary for liquidating
and winding up its business.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the passage thereof.

AN ACT making appropriations for the support of
the Government for the year ending on the first
day of January, eighteen hundred and fifty-seven.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That for the expenditure in the support
of the government for the present year, ending on the
first day of January, eighteen hundred and fifty-sev-
en, the following suras of money or so much thereof
as may be necessary, be and the same are hereby ap-
propriated, that is to say; for the compensation gran-
ted by the constitution of this State, and the laws
thereof to the members of the Senate and House of
Delegates, their officers and attendants, the salaries
