CHAPTER 332.

A SUPPLEMENT to an act entitled, an act to
authorise the construction of a branch to the Lib-
erty and franklin Plank or Turnpike Road, from
Jamison's Mills, to change the name of the same,
and for other purposes.

10, 1856.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the name of the Liberty and
Franklin Plank or Turnpike Road Company, be and
the same is hereby changed to the name of Gwinn's
Falls Turnpike Road Company, by which latter name
and title, said corporation shall be authorised to have
and exercise all the corporate powers, granted by its
original act of incorporation, and by the several sup-
plements thereto, and by this act; and all the pro-
ceedings had by said company, under the style and
title of the Liberty and Franklin Plank or Turnpike
Road Company, are hereby made valid and effectual
in law.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Gwinn's
Falls Turnpike Road Company, be and is hereby
authorised to extend the said road from its present
terminus at Jamison's Mills, upward along the valley
of Gwinn's Falls, following the said falls, so far as
the same may be deemed practicable, to the source of
the same, with the same powers in relation to the right
of way, for the branch hereby authorised, which the
company now has in relation to that part of said road
already graded, and subject to the same limitations
and restrictions touching the same, as is contained in
the original charter of the said company, and the
several supplements thereto.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said company
is hereby authorised to receive subscriptions for an
additional number of shares, amounting at their par
value, to the sum of one hundred thousand dollars;
and at the election for managers on the first Monday
of May next, and at every succeeding election there-
after, as provided by the charter of said company,
there shall be chosen twelve, instead of six mana-
gers, to conduct the affairs of the said company; a
majority of whom shall be necessary to constitute a
quorum for the transaction of business.
