in the same manner and under the same restrictions,
as if said binding was by two justices of the peace,
any law to the contrary notwithstanding.

AN ACT entitled, an act to amend an act entitled,
an act to incorporate the Presbyterian Church in
the city of Baltimore.
|
|
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, by an act of the General Assembly of
Maryland, passed January the twentieth, seventeen
hundred and ninety-eight, William Smith, Robert
Purviance, James Calhoun and others were con-
stituted a body politic and corporate by the name
of the committee of the Presbyterian Church in
the city of Baltimore, and were empowered to ac-
quire and hold property not exceeding in value six
thousand dollars.

Proviso.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the said corporation may acquire and hold
by purchase, gift, devise or bequest, real or personal
property; Provided, the same shall not exceed in
value the sum of twenty-five thousand dollars, current
money.
