ing south and west of the aforesaid line, and included
in what was formerly called Brinkley's district, to
constitute the aforesaid election district, No. 14, or
Lawson's district; and all the remaining portion to
constitute Brinkley's district, number six, as hereto-
fore.

Place of hold-
ing elections.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the place of hold-
ing elections in district number fourteen, or Lawson's
district, shall be at the store of Samuel Sterling, and
the place of holding elections in district number six,
or Brinkley's district, shall be at a place known as
Scott's store, lately occupied by Henry Millbourn,
now deceased.

Rights and
privileges.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the inhabitants
of said election district number fourteen, shall be in all
respects, entitled to all the rights and privileges, held
or to be held and enjoyed by the other election dis-
tricts in said county.

CHAPTER 42.

Passed Feb.
27, 1856.

AN ACT to change the name of Mary Emeline Ri-
der, of Somerset county, to Mary Wallace Rider.

Name changed.

SEC. 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the name of Mary Emeline Ri-
der of Somerset county, the daughter of William P.
Rider of said county, a minor, be and the same is
hereby changed to Mary Wallace Rider, and it shall
be lawful for the said Mary Emeline Rider to be
known and called by, and to have, hold and use the
name of Mary Wallace Rider, and by that name, when
she shall have attained the legal age, to have the right
to purchase, sell, convey, devise or receive property
hereafter given or devised, and to sue or be sued in
any court of law or equity.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
