CHAPTER 40.
|
|
|
|
AN ACT to fix the per diem of the County Commis-
sioners of Queen Ann's county.
|
Passed Feb.
27, 1856.

|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the compensation of each
County Commissioner of Queen Ann's county shall
be two dollars for each and every day of his attend-
ance, and if he should reside one mile or more from
the county town, in said county, such Commissioner
shall receive in addition to his per diem, mileage at
the rate of six and a quarter cents a mile for each
day's attendance for the distance necessarily travel-
led from his residence to said county town.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all laws inconsist-
ent with this act be and the same are hereby repealed;
and this act shall take effect from its passage.
CHAPTER 41.

Repealed.
|

AN ACT to lay out and establish a new election
district in Somerset county, to be called election
district No. 14, or Lawson's district.
|

27, 1856.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That a new election district be formed
and established, and the same is hereby established
in Somerset county, out of election district No. 6,
otherwise called Brinkley's district, in said county,
to be called and known by the name of Lawson's
district.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That the boundaries of
said election district shall be as follows, to wit; be-
ginning at the head of Coulburn's creek, thence by
and with a private road dividing the lands of John
C. Horsey and Southey Miles, to the county road
leading from Kingston to Jefferson's Corner, thence
by and with the said county road, south east and
south, to White's road, thence by and with White's
road to the head of Gumby's creek, all that part ly-
