SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That an additional magistrate be and
he is hereby granted to said district, who shall be ap-
pointed according to law, and shall have full power
to discharge all the duties, have all the rights, and be
subject to the same responsibilities of any magistrate
or magistrates now in existence in said district.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That at the next gen-
eral election, the voters of said district shall be enti-
tled to elect three justices of the peace for said dis-
trict, anything in any other act to the contrary not-
withstanding.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after its passage.

AN ACT amendatory of an act passed January ses-
sion eighteen hundred and fifty-three, chapter three
hundred, entitled, an act to provide for the election
of Road Supervisors in the several counties in this
State.

WHEREAS, it has been represented to this General
Assembly that the supervisors of the public roads
in Prince George's county are unable to procure
the necessary labor for the repair of the roads of
said county; therefore,

Preamble.
|
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That it is hereby made the duty of the
road supervisors elected under the provisions of the
act to which this is amendatory, to give such notice
as he or they may think proper, to the landholders in
the several elect ion districts of Prince George's county,
when they intend working on the public roads, and
in the event of their not being able to procure labor,
to work out as much money as may be in their hands,
they are then required to give at least ten days notice
to each landholder, that he or she is required to send
a number of hands equal to the whole number he or
she may work on his or her land, for not more than
