CHAPTER 315.

Passed Mar.
10, 1856.

AN ACT to enable Lorenzo T. Nelson to receive and
receipt for the money in the hands of John Nelson
and Hance Lawson due to him.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, Lorenzo T. Nelson is now about twenty
years of age, and has been, and is a boatman, and
has recently suffered the loss of his vessel, and
whereas, John Nelson and Hance Lawson owe to
said Lorenzo T. Nelson, a small amount of money
not exceeding one hundred dollars, and are willing
to pay the said money to said Lorenzo T. Nelson
in his distress, upon having lawful authority; there-
fore,

Authorised to
receive.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Lorenzo T. Nelson, a minor,
under the age of twenty years, shall be and hereby is
authorised and empowered to receive all sum or sums
of money due to him from John Nelson and Hance
Lawson, or either of them, and receipt for and dis-
charge the said John Nelson and Hance Lawson, or
either of them, as fully us if he the said Lorenzo T.
Nelson was of the full age of twenty one years.

To take effect.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 316.

10, 1856.

AN ACT entitled, an act to appoint an additional
magistrate in Election District number two, in
Talbot county.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, by a petition from sundry citizens in elec-
tion district number two, in Talbot county, it has
been represented to this Legislature that the wants
and interests of the people of said district require an
additional magistrate; therefore,
