Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That from and after the passage of this
act, the name of Henry Schley, of the city of Balti-
more, be and the same is hereby changed to Benja-
min Henry Schley.

AN ACT to make valid a deed of manumission from
Thomas Lord to negress Caroline.
|
|
|
Made valid.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the deed of manumission from
Thomas Lord to negress Caroline, executed on the
ninth day of January, in the year eighteen hundred
and thirty-nine, and recorded among the land records
of Somerset county, in Liber G. H., No. 9, folios
five hundred and ninety one, and five hundred and
ninety-two, and tested by one witness, be as valid
and effectual in law, as if the same had been tested
by two witnesses.
