AN ACT amendatory of an act to incorporate the
Baltimore Steam Packet Company, by authorising
said Company to make contracts for breaking tracks
through the ice.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Baltimore Steam Packet Com-
pany, be and it is hereby authorised and empowered
to contract with any person or persons, corporation or
corporations, for breaking a track through the ice and
keeping the same open, in the Chesapeake Bay and
its tributary streams.

SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That this act shall take ef-
fect from its passage.

A SUPPLEMENT to an act entitled, an act to pro-
vide for the speedy collection of State and County
Taxes in Baltimore county, and for other purposes,
passed at January session eighteen hundred and
fitly four, chapter one hundred and thirty nine.

Repealed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That so much of the ninth section
of the act of eighteen hundred and fifty four, chapter
one hundred and thirty nine, entitled, an act to pro-
vide for the speedy collection of State and County
taxes in Baltimore county, and for other purposes,
which provides that not more than six per cent, shall
be paid out of the monies authorised to be collected
by the sheriff of Baltimore county by said act, for com-
mission for the collection of the taxes in arrear in
said county, be and the same is hereby repealed, and
the commissioners of said county are hereby author-
ised to allow the said sheriff, by way of commissions
for the collection of said taxes in arrear, such sum as
