CHAPTER 282.

Passed Mar.
10, 1856.

A SUPPLEMENT to an act relating to the pay-
ment of the Criers and Bailiffs of the courts of
Baltimore city, passed at December session eigh-
teen hundred and thirty-four, chapter two-hundred
and seventy-two.

Shall be con-
strued to ap-
apply.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Man/land, That the estimate and levy in antici-
pation provided for by the act to which this is a sup-
plement shall be construed to apply to the authorities
of the city of Baltimore and the respective courts of
said city.

Dues to be
paid monthly.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That at the end of every
month after the passage of this act, the amount of dues
to the Criers and Bailiffs of the Superior Court, of the
Court of Common Pleas, of the Criminal Court and
of the Circuit Court for Baltimore city, shall be certi-
fied and paid as prescribed by the act to which this is
a supplement at the end of every month as aforesaid,
instead of quarterly as directed by said act, which in
this particular is hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 283.

AN ACT for the benefit of Moor N. Falls, Presi-
dent of the company owning the steamboat Her-
ald, for services rendered the State.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, the steamboat Herald was forced into the
waters of Somerset county in Maryland, for the
purpose of executing the laws of this State against
certain persons violating the same by unlawfully
catching and taking oysters therein; under the di-
rection of the Attorney General of said State,
therefore,

Sum appro-
priated.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the sum of three hundred dollars,
be and the same is hereby appropriated to the pay-
