Commission-
ers allowed
per diem.
|
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That each commis-
sioner shall be entitled to receive at the rate of two
dollars per day for every day he shall act in the dis-
charge of the duties imposed on him by the provisions
of this act, to be assessed and levied by the county
commissioners of St. Mary's county, as other county
charges are, which said sum when levied and col-
lected, shall be paid over in like manner as other
county charges are.

Rights and
privileges.
|
SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That at the next gene-
ral election, and at every general election hereafter,
the inhabitants of said district, shall elect two magis-
trates, two constables, and all other officers apper-
taining to said district, and be in all respects entitled
to all the rights, liberties and privileges held or to be
held and enjoyed by the other election districts in said
county.

Governor to
appoint two
magistrates.
|
SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That the governor be
and he is hereby empowered to appoint and commis-
sion two persons residing within the lines of said dis-
trict, who shall act as justices of the peace until the
next general election of delegates.

missioners to
appoint two
constables.
|
SEC. 8. And be it enacted, That the commission-
ers of St. Mary's county, be and they are hereby em-
powered to appoint two persons residing within said
district to act as constables.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after the day of its passage.

AN ACT for the better protection of stock from rail-
roads, or from roads leading to and from the same.
|
|
|
Authorised to
erect gates.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That E. L. Delashmut & Son, be and
are hereby empowered to erect two gates on a road
leading from the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad to a
road intersecting the road leading from Doyle's wa-
ter station to the Frederick and Georgetown road, for
the better protection of stock from railroads, or from
roads leading to and from the same.
