AN ACT to provide for the payment of fees to Robert
Ford and Frederick Stone for legal services for the
State.
|
|
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, it has been represented to this General
Assembly that Robert Ford and Frederick Stone
rendered important service to the State of Mary-
land, at the instance of the Governor, in the pros-
ecution of Nelson Bryan and Joseph Lawrence for
murder, in the Circuit Court for St. Mary's coun-
ty, and whereas, it is right and proper that the said
Robert Ford and Frederick Stone should be com-
pensated for the services thus rendered; therefore,

Treasurer to
pay.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Treasurer, upon the warrant
of the Comptroller, be and he is hereby authorised
and directed to pay to the order of Robert Ford and
Frederick Stone the sum of fifty dollars each for ser-
vices rendered by them respectively to the State of
Maryland, in the prosecution of Nelson Bryan and
Joseph Lawrence for murder, in the Circuit Court for
St. Mary's county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.

AN ACT for the benefit of the Academies and
schools of Anne Arundel county.
|
|
|
Treasurer to
pay.
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the treasurer be and he is hereby
directed to pay to the commissioners of primary
schools for Arundel county, the sum of eight hundred
dollars annually.

|
Sum appro-
priated.
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the commis-
sioners of primary schools for Arundel county, shall
appropriate the said sum of eight hundred dollars, or
