CHAPTER 226.

10, 1856.

AN ACT to authorise and empower Joseph Phelps
to build a wharf in Elk Neck, Cecil county.

Authorised to
build wharf.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Joseph Phelps, of Cecil county,
be and he is hereby authorised and empowered to
build upon his shore in Elk Neck, in said county, a
commodious wharf, and when completed to demand
and collect the usual wharfage fees from all vessels,
steamers or boats, lying at the same, provided that
in erection thereof, no impediment or obstruction is
made to the navigation by vessels of Elk river.

In force.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 227.

AN ACT to establish a new election district in Cecil
county.

New election
district.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That for the greater convenience of vo-
ting in Cecil county, a new election district be created
out of parts of election districts numbers four, five
and six, of said county.

Boundaries.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the boundaries of
said district shall be as follows: Beginning for the
same at the Pennsylvania line where it intersects the
public road near John Donohoo's, thence south by
said road to its intersection with the road from Rising
Sun to Brick Meeting House, thence south by said
road until it intersects the road from Brickley's Cross
Roads to Brick Meeting House, thence east by said
road until it intersects North East Creek, thence
south by said creek to the bridge on the road from
Shalamiah to Nowland's corner, thence east by said
road to the road leading from Elkton to the Pennsyl-
vania line, thence by said road to the Pennsylvania
line near McDonnelly's, thence west by said line to
the place of beginning.
