ty, deceased, and of all the parties in interest, to order
and decree a sale of the lands devised to said trustees in
trust for certain purposes therein expressed, in such man-
ner and upon such terms as the said Judge may pre-
scribe, and to direct the investment of the proceeds of
such sale in other lands, or in some productive fund to
be designated by the said Judge.

Trustees
shall enter
into bond.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said trustees
shall enter into bond conditioned for the faithful per-
formance of their duties under this act; the penalty of
which bond shall be prescribed by the said Judge; and
shall in all respects be subject, and accountable to the
said circuit court sitting in equity, as other trustees are,
and shall report their proceedings in about the premises to
the said Judge of the Circuit Court, who shall ratify and
confirm the same.

Hold pro-
perty.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the aforesaid trus-
tees, and the survivor of them, shall hold the property so
purchased, or the fund so invested in like manner, for
the same use and under the same trust as the lands now
authorized to be sold are held by them.

In force.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to increase the allowance to the Sheriffs of Anne
Arundel and Howard counties for keeping and board-
ing in their respective jails such prisoners as may be
committed for breaches of the peace or for any crimi-
nal offences or otherwise, and for keeping and board-
ing any runaway negro or negro slave committed to
the jails of said counties by any citizen of this State.

Sheriffs al-
lowed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Sheriffs of Anne Arundel and
Howard counties shall be allowed for keeping and board-
ing all prisoners committed to the jails of said county
for breaches of the peace or for any criminal offences, or
