in the discretion of said Visitors to reject such youth
or dismiss such student, or if the moral delinquency
be such as to justify it, they may suspend such stu-
dent for a limited period.

Duty of the
several or-
phans' courts.
|
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That it shall be the
duty of the several orphans' courts when called upon
to execute the duties imposed by the above mentioned
resolution, to cause to be brought before them the
youths who are offered as candidates for appointment,
and to examine personally into their fitness, moral and
intellectual, taking care to select only such as appear
capable of learning effectually, the branches to be
taught during the college course, and to do credit to
the Institution.

When to take
effect.
|
SEC. 4. Be it enacted, That this act shall go into
force so soon as the said Visitors and Governors shall
certify, under the hand of their presiding officer and
the seal of the corporation to the Secretary of State,
that this act has been accepted by them.

AN ACT, making an appropriation of money to defray
the expense of the surveys necessary, under the
acts passed January session, 1852, chapters 60
and 275, authorizing the running and marking of
the State boundary lines therein mentioned.
|

Preamble.
|
WHEREAS, by the acts passed January session, 1852,
chapter sixty, and chapter two hundred and seven-
ty-five, the former entitled "an act to provide for
running and marking that portion of the boundary
line between the States of Maryland and Virginia,
extending from Smith's Point, at the mouth of the
Potomac river, to the Atlantic ocean," and the lat-
ter, entitled "an act for running and marking the
western boundary line of this State," the Gov-
ernor of this State was authorised to open a cor-
respondence with the Governor of Virginia, in
order to procure the concurrence of action and
consent necessary on the part of that State to ac-
