CHAPTER 200.

Passed Mar.
8, 1856.

AN ACT to authorise the county commissioners of
Worcester county to sell a portion of the alms
house property in said county.

Empowered
to sell.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the county commissioners of
Worcester county, be and they are hereby authorised
and empowered to sell or dispose of all that part of
the almshouse property of said county lying east of
the road running from Snow Hill to Berlin, in any
manner, at any time, and in whatever place, they, in
their judgment, may think right and proper and to
the best interest of the county.

Proceeds of
sale to be ap-
plied.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the proceeds
arising from the sale of said land be applied by the
said county commissioners to the payment of the
debt incurred for the purchase of the farm of which
the said land is a part and for the erection of build-
ings thereon.

Repealed.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That so much of the
act passed in 1853, chanter 152, as is inconsistent
with this act be and the same is hereby repealed.

In force.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 201.

AN ACT to provide for the transcribing of certain
records in the Register's office of Worcester coun-

ty.

Judges of the
orphans' court
authorised.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Judges of the Orphans'
Court for Worcester county, be and they are hereby
authorised and required to examine the keys or gene-
ral alphabetical indexes, in the office of the Register
of Wills for Worcester county; and if in the judgment
of the said judges any of the said books are in danger
of becoming illegible from mutilation or any other
