CHAPTER 173.

8, 1856.

AN ACT to empower Israel C. O'Neal, late Sheriff
of Frederick county, further time to complete his
collection.

Time extend-
ed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Israel C. O'Neal, late Sheriff of
Frederick county, be allowed until the first day of
December next, to complete his collections and to re-
turn his list of insolvent fees placed in his hands for
collection.

In force.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from its passage.

CHAPTER 174.

8, 1856.

AN ACT authorising the County Commissioners of
Charles county to alter the lines dividing election
Districts in said county, and form another election
District.

To examine
District lines.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the County Commissioners of
Charles county shall have full power and authority,
if they shall deem it expedient, to appoint three dis-
creet and intelligent citizens of said county as exam-
iners, who shall have full power and authority to
view and examine the lines of the several election
Districts in said county, and to report to said Com-
missioners any alteration of said lines, and also, if
in their opinion, the same be expedient, the lines and
boundaries of any new election District in said coun-
ty, and if, in their opinion, a new election District
shall be necessary, the said examiners shall recom-
mend the place where elections shall be held, and
lines, boundaries, and all matters relative thereto.

County Com-
missioners
may confirm
or reject.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the County Com-
missioners shall, upon such report, confirm, modify,
or reject the same; and if any alteration of the lines
of any District or Districts, or any new election Dis-
