SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 168.

In force.

AN ACT authorising the County Commissioners of
Frederick County to make two polls in District
No. 2, of said County.

8, 1856.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the County Commissioners of
Frederick County, are hereby authorised and directed
to hold two polls in District No. 2, called Frederick
District of said County, by dividing the said District
by a line running from the Frederick and Woodsbo-
rough Turnpike Bridge, with the Turnpike road to
Frederick City, and thence through market street of
said City, with the Turnpike road to the Monocacy
Bridge, on the Georgetown Turnpike road.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all the voters on the
East side of said line, in said District, shall vote at
such place in Frederick City, as may be chosen by
the said Commissioners, who are hereby directed to
provide the same; and all the voters residing on the
West side of said line, in said District, shall vote at
such place, in said section of said District, as shall
be named by the County Commissioners for said
County.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the Sheriff of Fred-
erick County shall give notice of the places of holding
the election, in said District so laid off, by causing the
same to be inserted in one or more of the newspa-
pers printed in Frederick City, once a week for at
least one month, previous to holding the Election in
November eighteen hundred and fifty six, and annual-
ly thereafter.
