CHAPTER. 130.

8, 1856.

AN ACT amendatory of an act passed at January
session eighteen hundred and fifty-four, chapter one
hundred and seventy-two, entitled, an act to reg-
ulate fisheries in the waters of the Potomac river,
within the jurisdiction of Maryland, and to protect
the breed of fish therein.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the fishing season for shad and
herring in the waters of the Potomac river, for each
and every year, shall not commence earlier than the
first day of March, and shall not continue longer than
the twenty-fifth day of May.

When to take
effect.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted. That this act, and the
act to which this is amendatory, shall take effect from
and after the concurrence of the State of Virginia,
by the passage of a law with like provisions to pro-
tect the fisheries in the waters of the Potomac river,
within the jurisdiction of Virginia.

CHAPTER 131.

8, 1856.

AN ACT to authorise the Treasurer to pay to Isaac
Nesbitt, of Washington county, certain moneys
improperly paid by him into the Treasury, as clerk
of Washington County Court.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Comptroller of the Treasury
be and he is hereby authorised and directed to issue
his warrant to the Treasurer, authorising and direct-
ing him to pay, out of any unappropriated funds in
the Treasury, to Isaac Nesbitt, late clerk of Washing-
ton County Court, the sum of one hundred and twen-
ty-six dollars, said sum of money having been paid
by the said Nesbitt into the Treasury improperly, in
the year eighteen hundred and forty-six.
