Army of the Revolution, in the Senate Chamber at
Annapolis, on the twenty-third day of December sev-
enteen hundred and eighty-three.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the Treasurer is
hereby authorised on the warrant of the Comptroller
to pay over to the Order of James Wallace, S. Ow-
ings Hoffman, and W. Lingan Gaither, a committee
appointed on the part of the Senate to contract for
and superintend the execution of said painting, or, a
majority of said committee, the said sum of three
thousand dollars, or so much thereof as may be neces-
sary to obtain the production.

AN ACT for the benefit of Zadock Townsend, of
Somerset county.
|

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assem-
bly, that Zadock Townsend purchased a lot of
land containing five acres more or less, from James
A. Phoebus, since deceased, of said county, and the
purchase money of said land was paid in full to
said deceased, who never executed a deed for the
same; Therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Sally Phoebus, executrix of said
James A. Phoebus, is hereby vested with full power
to execute a deed for the said lot of land to said
Zadock Townsend, in fee simple, according to the
stipulations of said James A.Phoebus, executed on
twenty-fifth of January, eighteen hundred and fifty-
five.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall
take effect from and after the date of its passage.
