of Commissioner of Insurance was supposed to accomplish, but which
it has failed to do; now, therefore, be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the Governor,
the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Dele-
gates be requested* to appoint a commission to be composed of five
(5) citizens of the State of Maryland, with three (3) of the appoint-
ments including the Chairman, to be made by the Governor, one (1)
of the appointments by the President of the Senate and one (1) of
the apointments by the Speaker of the House of Delegates; and be
it further

Resolved, That the said commission be requested to study the ad-
visability and necessity of creating the office of State Fire Marshal
in order to carry out and perform the duties now imposed upon the
Commissioner of Insurance by the provisions of the laws relating to
the Fire Investigation Bureau; and be it further

Resolved, That the Commission be requested to report its findings
of facts, conclusions and recommendations to the General Assembly
of Maryland on or before the first day of the Regular Session of 1957.

(House Joint Resolution 15)

House Joint Resolution directing that the Board of Public Works
and the State Roads Commission provide adequate parking facili-
ties for members of the General Assembly and certain State
House employees attached to the Legislature.

Whereas, the parking problem in the city of Annapolis during
the time of meeting of the General Assembly has become difficult
and acute; and

Whereas, it has become necessary for the convenience of those
attending to the important and official business of the General
Assembly that nearby parking facilities be made available directly;:
and

Whereas, there are areas within the city of Annapolis which are
peculiarly well adapted to the accommodation of automobiles of
Legislators and employees of the State attached to the General
Assembly; now therefore be it

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland? That the Board
of Public Works and the State Roads Commission be directed to
