(c) A charge is hereby imposed on the weight of all vehicles
except vehicles owned by the State of Maryland or any agency or
political sub-division thereof in excess of that permitted by law and
every vehicle having such overweight shall secure a permit from the
State Roads Commission, the charge for which shall be $10.00.
The permit shall specify the route to be followed, the mileage
covered and the date and hours between which the passage is to be
made and maximum weight.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1956.

(House Bill 159)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 2 (o) of
Article 78 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1955 Supplement),
title "Public Service Commission Law", sub-title "General Pro-
visions" and to add Section 2 (r-1) to said Article and sub-title, to
follow immediately after Section 2 (r) thereof, defining the term
"sewage disposal company" and further defining such companies
as public service companies in order to bring them within the
provisions of said Article and within the jurisdiction and powers
of the Public Service Commission.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 2 (o) of Article 78 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1955 Supplement), title "Public Service Commission Law", sub-
title "General Provisions", be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, and that Section 2 (r-1) be and it is
hereby added to said Article and sub-title, to follow immediately
after Section 2 (r) thereof, and all to read as follows:
2. Definitions.
(o) Public service company; classification.—"Public service com-
pany" means a common carrier company, gas company, electric
company, steam heating company, telephone company, telegraph
company, water company, sewage disposal company, and/or any
combination thereof. Two public service companies shall be con-
sidered of the same class, where they are both common carrier com-
panies or both gas companies, electric companies, gas and electric
companies, steam heating companies, telephone companies, telegraph
companies, [or] water companies or sewage disposal companies.
(r-1) Sewage disposal company.— "Sewage disposal company"
includes any privately-owned public service company which owns or
