CHAPTER 604
(Senate Bill 534)

AN ACT to add a new sub-section to Section 19 of Article 2B of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition and 1954 Supplement),
title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Beer, Wine and Liquor
Licenses", said new sub-section to be known as Sub-section (ee)
and to follow immediately after Sub-section (e) thereof, and to
repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-section (1) of Section
19 of said Article and sub-title, authorizing Beer, Wine and
Liquor Licenses, Class B (On-Sale) in Dorchester Countyr , AND
RELATING GENERALLY TO THE ISSUE OF SUCH LI-
CENSES AND TO THE CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH THIS
ACT IS PASSED.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new sub-section be and it is hereby added to Section 19 of
Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition and
1954 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages" sub-title "Beer, Wine
and Liquor Licenses", said new sub-section to be known as Sub-
section (ee) and to follow immediately after Sub-section (e) thereof,
and that Sub-section (1) of Section 19 of said Article and sub-title,
be and it is hereby repealed and re-encated, with amendments, and
all to read as follows:

19.

(ee) (Dorchester County.) In Dorchester County, bona fide
hotels having 100 or more rooms and located on property now owned
by the City of Cambridge, upon payment
TO THE COMMISSION-
ERS OF CAMBRIDGE of an annual license fee of One Thousand
Dollars ($1,000.00), may obtain a license from the County Commis-
sioners of Dorchester County and by such license shall be entitled to
sell beer, wines and liquors for on the premises consumption between
the hours of 7:00 o'clock A. M. and 1:00 o'clock A. M. on the day fol-
lowing, except on Sunday when no sales shall be allowed.
PRO-
VIDED, HOWEVER, THAT THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SUB-
SECTION SHALL BE NULL AND VOID AND OF NO FURTHER
EFFECT WHATEVER IF NO LICENSE HAS BEEN ISSUED
UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THIS SUB-SECTION ON OR BE-
FORE JUNE 1, 1957.

19.

(1) Applicability.—Such licenses shall only be issued in Balti-
more City, Anne Arundel County, Baltimore County, the towns of
North Beach and Chesapeake Beach in Calvert County and Cecil,
Dorchester, Montgomery, Prince George's, Talbot, Washington and
Worcester counties.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.
