CHAPTER 605
(Senate Bill 537)

AN ACT to add a new section to Article 27 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Crimes and Punishments", sub-
title "Gaming", said new section to be known as Section 319A and
to follow immediately after Section 319 of said Code, making it
lawful to conduct or operate the game of Bingo in St. Mary's
County for certain purposes.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 27 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Crimes and
Punishments", sub-title "Gaming", said new section to be known as
Section 319A and to follow immediately after Section 319 of said
Code, and to read as follows:

319A. Nothing in this sub-title shall be construed to make it
unlawful for any bona fide fraternal, religious, patriotic, educational
or charitable organizations or corporations, or volunteer fire com-
panies, to conduct or operate a game of Bingo for the benefit of
charity in St. Mary's County, or in furtherance of the purpose of
such organization, corporation or volunteer fire department.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 46 and
to repeal Section 48 of Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's County", sub-title
"County Commissioners", as said Section 46 was amended by
Chapter 97 of the Acts of 1953, relating to the Commissioner
Districts of St. Mary's County and the election of representatives
thereto.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 46 of Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's County", sub-title
"County Commissioners", as said Section 46 was amended by Chapter
97 of the Acts of 1953, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, and to read as follows:

[46. St. Mary's County shall be divided into three commissioners'
districts as follows: The first, second, eighth and ninth election dis-
