election district within which they will respond to emergency or fire
calls.
332K. In the event said fire companies cease to be active fire fight-
ing organizatoins or if the funds provided for herein are not used for
the purposes set forth in Sections 332-I to 332L of this sub-title, or
if restrictive rules or regulations are adopted by said companies with
respect to the area within which they will respond to emergency or
fire call, then, and in any of said events, the said County Commission-
ers shall cease to levy the said fire tax.
332L. The fire companies approved in accordance with the pro-
visions of this sub-title shall give bond to the County Commissioners
of Anne Arundel County in a penal sum to be set by them conditioned
upon the faithful expenditure of the funds derived hereunder.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That before any tax shall be
levied under the provisions of this Act, the question of such levy shall
first be submitted to the legally qualified voters of the fourth Election
District at the regular polling place at a special election for all legally
qualified voters on the same day as the statewide primary election in
the year 1956. There shall be printed on the ballot to be used at said
election the title of this Act and underneath said title, on separate
lines, a square or box to the right of and opposite the words "for
Fire Tax", and a corresponding square or box to the right of and
opposite the words "Against Fire Tax", so that the voters shall be able
to designate by a cross-mark in the proper square or box his or her
decision for or against said fire tax. If the majority of the votes cast
in said election shall be "for Fire Tax", then said tax shall be levied
and paid over in accordance with the provisions of this Act, but if
a majority of the votes cast shall be "Against Fire Tax", then this
Act shall be of no effect and shall be null and void.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

(House Bill 207)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 47 (j) of
Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1954 Supplement),
title "County Commissioners", sub-title "County Treasurers", re-
moving from said section the provisions concerning the attorney
to the Treasurer of Garrett County.
