SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That nothing in this Act shall
be construed or applied to affect or change the law as to any injury
or release thereof or any court proceedings thereunder which
occurred prior to the effective date of this Act.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

(House Bill 269)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sub-sections (a)
and (g) of Section 131 of Article 66C of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1951 Edition and 1954 Supplement), title "Natural
Resources", sub-title "Birds, Game and Inland Water Fish", sub-
heading "Upland and Migratory Game Birds and Game Animals",
relating to the hunting seasons for numerous animals, the exten-
sion thereof by the Game and Inland Fish Commission, shooting
game from a paved highway, and correcting an error in said
section.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sub-sections (a) and (g) of Section 131 of Article 66C of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition and 1954 Supplement),
title "Natural Resources", sub-title "Birds, Game and Inland Water
Fish", sub-heading "Upland and Migratory Game Birds and Game
Animals", be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
131.
(a) Open Seasons—The open season for game birds and game
animals shall be set by regulation of the Game and Inland Fish
Commission under authority conferred upon it by [Section 5 of
Article 99] Section 115 of Article 66C within the prescribed dates
listed below. The Game and Inland Fish Commission shall adopt
and publish seasons on game birds and game animals annually on
or before April 25 of each year [.] , provided, however, that when-
ever the Game and Inland Fish Commission, in the exercising of its
powers and authority, restricts or reduces the number of days nor-
mally allowed for the hunting, taking, capturing, killing, possession,
sale, purchase, shipment, transportation, carriage or export of any
wild bird or wild animal because of an emergency situation, or con-
dition, said Game and Inland Fish Commission shall have the
authority to extend the period aforementioned beyond the days
specified below so as to provide a comparable number of days in any
given season for the hunting, taking, capturing, killing, possession,
