be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

(t) In Talbot County the Sheriff shall receive an annual salary
of $1,800. He may appoint, subject to the approval of the County
Commissioners of the County, such deputies as he may deem neces-
sary and at such compensation as he may fix, subject to approval of
the County Commissioners of the County, but the compensation of all
such deputies shall not exceed, in the aggregate, [four Thousand
Dollars ($4,000)3 Seven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($7,500.00)
per annum.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

(House Bill 2)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 234 (c)
and Section 235 (c) of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1951 Edition), title "Revenue and Taxes", sub-title "State
Tax Commission", raising the schedules for the compensation of
the Supervisors of Assessments and Assessors in the several coun-
ties and Baltimore City.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 234 (c) and Section 235 (c) of Article 81 of the Anno-
tated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Revenue and Taxes",
sub-title "State Tax Commission", be and they are hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
234.
(c). The following classifications and their respective schedules
prescribing minimum and maximum rates with automatic increases
from minimum to maximum, at the rate of 20% each year for a
period of five years are hereby established and shall apply to the
Supervisors of Assessments of the several counties and Baltimore
City:
Class A.....................[$4,400 to $5,400] $4,600 to $5,600
Class B....................[ 3,850 to 4,850] 4,050 to 5,050
Class C....................[ 3,100 to 3,850] 3,800 to 4,050
Class D....................[ 2,300 to 3,050] 2,500 to 8,250
