382A. The Board of Education of Cecil County is hereby author-
ized and empowered to sell and convey unto the Jacob Tome Institute,
a corporation of the State of Maryland, in fee simple, subject to a
certain outstanding leasehold interest, all that part of lot number
twenty-three laid out on the plat of the Sarah Thomas part of the
Town of Port Deposit, which said lot lies on the East side of High
Street in said town and fronts forty feet on said High Street and
extends up the hill Easterly 207 feet slant measure, at and for such
price, not to exceed $416.00 as it may deem proper.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 165 of
Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Washington County", sub-title "County Commis-
sioners", sub-heading "Library", as said section was amended by
Chapter 287 of the Acts of 1953, relating to the amounts which may
be appropriated by the County Commissioners to the Washington
County Free Library.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 165 of Article 22 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Washington County", sub-title
"County Commissioners", sub-heading "Library", as said section was
amended by Chapter 287 of the Acts of 1953, be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
165. The County Commissioners of Washington County are hereby
authorized and directed to enter into a contract with the Washing-
ton County Free Library, whereby they shall contract to contribute
annually the sum of Twenty Thousand Dollars per annum for the care
and maintenance of the said [the] Washington County Free Library.
In addition to the above amount, the said Commissioners are hereby
authorized, in their discretion, to appropriate and contribute an addi-
tional amount not exceeding [Twenty] forty Thousand Dollars
annually for the care and maintenance of said Library.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.
