title "Mechanics' Liens", providing a lien for well diggers. in the
various counties of Maryland.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 1 of Article 63 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1954 Supplement), title "Mechanics' Liens", be and it is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and to read as follows:
1. Every building erected and every building repaired, rebuilt
or improved to the extent of one-fourth its value in Baltimore City
and in any of the counties shall be subject to a lien for the payment
of all debts contracted for work done for or about the same, and for
materials furnished for or about the same, including THE DRILL-
ING AND INSTALLATION OF WELLS FOR THE PURPOSE OF
SUPPLYING WATER, the sodding, seeding or planting in or about
the premises, or any shrubs, trees, plants, flowers or nursery prod-
ucts of any kind or description and the grading, filling and land-
scaping thereon.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

(Senate Bill 390)
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 52 of the Annotated Code
of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Justices of the Peace", sub-
title "Process and Practice", said new section to be known as
Section 37-A and to follow immediately after Section 37 thereof,
relating to the dismissal of civil cases filed before Justices of the
Peace and Trial Magistrates after a certain time for want of
prosecution.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article 52 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Justices of the
Peace", sub-title "Process and Practice", said new section to be
known as Section 37-A and to follow immediately after Section 37
thereof, and to read as follows:
37-A. All civil cases filed before any Justice of the Peace or
Trial Magistrate shall be marked

"DISMISSED WITHOUT PREJUDICE" unless tried within two
years from the date of the filing thereof, provided that at any time
