THEODORE R. McKELDIN, GOVERNOR                   369

WHEREAS, Additional lands are needed for the general educational
purposes of the University of Maryland, and facilities and functions
in connection therewith; now, therefore

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Board of Regents of the University of Maryland is hereby
empowered and authorized to acquire by purchase, lease, gift, or
condemnation the following tracts of land and properties in Balti-
more :

121 South Greene Street

Beginning for the same on the easternmost side of Greene Street
at the distance of 159 feet southwardly from the southeast corner
of Greene and Lombard Streets and running thence southwardly
bounding on the easternmost side of Greene Street 16 feet to the
northernmost side of King Street (formerly Carpenters Alley) thence
running and binding on the northwest side of King Street eastwardly
63 feet to the lot of ground which was conveyed by James H. Mc-
Henry to George A. Davis by Indenture dated the third day of June
1844 and recorded among the land records of Baltimore City, in
Liber T. K. No. 342, folio 417, thence running and binding on the
westernmost outline of the ground conveyed by said McHenry to
said Davis northwardly 16 feet to the southeast corner of the lot of
ground which was demised and leased by said McHenry to James
Getty by lease dated the 28th day of December, 184 and recorded
among the land records of Baltimore City, in Liber AWB No. 379,
folio 181, and thence running westwardly bounding on the southern-
most outline of said lot of ground leased by said McHenry to said
Getty as aforesaid 63 feet to the place of beginning.

Improvements thereon being known as No. 121 South Greene
Street.

519 West Lombard Street

Beginning for the same on the south side of Lombard Street at the
center of the partition wall betiveen the house on the lot being
described and the house on the lot adjoining to the west which place
of beginning is at the distance of 81 feet, 7 1/2 inches easterly from
the southeast corner of Lombard and Greene Streets, and running
thence southerly through the center of the partition wall above men-
tioned and continuing the same direction through the center of the
covered alley between the house fronting on King Street on the lot
now being described and the house fronting on King Street on the
lot adjoining to the west in all 175 feet, 11 1/2 inches to the north side
of King Street (formerly Carpenter Alley) at a point distant east-
erly 83 feet,10 1/2 inches from the east side of Greene Street, thence
easterly binding on the north side of King Street 21 feet, 6 inches
to the southwest corner of the ground which by Indenture dated
February 1, 1844, and recorded among the land records of Balti-
more City, in Liber TK No. 338, folio 224, was granted and con-
veyed by James Howard McHenry to Wesley Starr, thence northerly
binding on that ground 175 feet, 11 1/4 inches to the south side of
Lombard Street and thence westerly binding on the south side of
Lombard Street 21 feet, 6 inches to the place of beginning.

Subject to the use of an alley 3 feet in width laid out along the
first line of the above described ground and extending northerly
