of the State's Attorney, the Deputy and Assistant State's Attorneys
shall include such services as any of them performed before or on
behalf of the Judges of the Circuit Court, Justices of the Peace or
Trial Magistrates of said County, in preliminary hearings or trials
in criminal cases.

(8) The State's Attorney of Montgomery County is authorized to
appoint [two] three clerks at such annual salary as may be fixed by
the County Council.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby
declared to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate
preservation of the public health and safety and having been passed
by a yea and nay vote, supported by three-fifths of all the members
elected to each of the two Houses of the General Assembly of Mary-
land, the same shall take effect from the date of its passage.

(Senate Bill 62)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 247 A of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore County (1953 Cumu-
lative Supplement), said section being in "Title 19. Pensions" and
in the sub-title "Fire Department System", authorizing and
directing the County Commissioners of Baltimore County to pen-
sion the widow and infant children of the members of volunteer
ambulance companies of Baltimore County who are killed in the
active discharge of their duties or who die as a result of injuries
sustained in the active discharge of their duties.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 247A of the Code of Public Local Laws of Baltimore
County (1953 Cumulative Supplement), said section being in "Title
19. Pensions" and in the sub-title "Fire Department System", be
and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
247A. In the event a member of any volunteer fire company or
volunteer ambulance company of Baltimore County is killed in the
active discharge of his duties as a member of such volunteer fire
company or volunteer ambulance company or dies as a result of
injuries sustained in the active discharge of such duties, said death
occurring after January 1, [1951] 1955, the County Commissioners
of Baltimore County are hereby authorized and directed to pay to
his widow, until her death or remarriage, the sum of Fifty Dollars
($50. 00) per month, and to pay for the support of each infant child
