(h-1) Each of the Judges of the Orphans Court for Allegany
County shall receive the sum of $15. 00 for every day's attendance
upon the sessions of said Court. Each Judge also shall be paid
annually the sum of $150. 00 $200. 00 as traveling expenses to be
received from the Board of County Commissioners of Allegany
County in quarterly payments.
(j) Each of the Judges of the Orphans' Court for Baltimore
County shall receive the sum of $12. 00 for every day's attendance
upon the sessions of the Court
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

(Senate Bill 59)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, sub-section (j)
and (k) (8) of Section 40 of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys
in Fact", sub-title "State's Attorney", providing for the appoint-
ment of an additional Assistant State's Attorney in Montgomery
County who shall receive an annual salary of not less than $3, 600. 00
and providing for the appointment of an additional clerk by the
State's Attorney for Montgomery County at such annual salary as
may be fixed by the County Council.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That sub-sections (j) and (k) (8) of Section 40 of Article 10 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Attorneys
at Law and Attorneys in Fact", sub-title "State's Attorney", be and
they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:

(j) The State's Attorney of Montgomery County shall receive an
annual salary of $7, 500. 00. The State's Attorney is hereby author-
ized and empowered to appoint a Deputy State's Attorney who shall
receive an annual salary of not less than $5, 000. 00 and [an] two
Assistant State's Attorneys who shall each receive an annual salary
of not less than $3, 600. 00. The County Council may increase the
compensation of the Deputy and two Assistant State's Attorneys
in its discretion. The State's Attorney and the Deputy State's
Attorney, or either of them, shall present cases to the Grand Jury
of Montgomery County, and perform such other acts and duties in
relation to said Grand Jury as are necessary and proper. The salaries
