Section 159 thereof, permitting substituted service of process on
the Secretary of State in suits filed against non-residents operat-
ing watercraft using the waterways of this State.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 159A be and it is hereby added to Article 75 of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition), title "Pleading, Prac-
tice and Process at Law", sub-title "Process", to follow immediately
after Section 159 thereof, and to read as follows:

159A. (a) The acceptance by a non-resident individual, firm or
corporation of the rights and privileges of using the waterways of
Maryland, shall be deemed equivalent to an appointment by the
non-resident of the Secretary of State7 as attorney upon whom may
be served all lawful process in any action against the non-resident
growing out of an injury to person or property of a Maryland
resident occurring in Maryland which results from the operation
of said watercraft while operated, or caused to be operated by said
non-resident. Service shall be made in the same manner and with
the same consequences provided for service of non-resident motor
vehicle owners or operators in Article 66 1/2, Section 113(a)-(f),
inclusive, as amended from time to time.

(b) Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 158 hereof, in any
action against the owner or operators of watercraft growing out of
any injury to the person or property of a Maryland resident occur-
ring in Maryland, which results from the operation of said water-
craft, suit may be brought in the county in which such injury
occurred.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.

(Senate Bill 252)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 430C
and 430E of the Laws of Harford County (1942 Edition), being
Article 13 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title
"Harford County", sub-title "Metropolitan Commission", as said
sections were enacted by Chapter 679 of the Acts of 1953,
amending the provisions of the laws concerning the Metropolitan
Commission of Harford County with respect to the funds to be
furnished to the Commission for its organization, preliminary
expenses and first issue of bonds.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections. 430C and 430E of the Laws of Harford County (1942
