pairs to existing schools in Allegany County as more specifically
enumerated herein, and is hereby authorized and empowered to bor-
row, from time to time, in such amounts as it shall deem necessary,
money on the faith and credit of said County, and to issue therefor
bonds, provided that in the aggregate said bonds shall not exceed
the sum of Eight Hundred Thousand Dollars ($800,000.00), and pro-
vided that said bonds shall bear a rate of interest not exceeding four
per centum per annum; and provided further that if said money or
any part thereof shall be borrowed by the sale of bonds that said
bonds shall be designated "School Construction and Improvement
Bonds of Allegany County", and shall be of such denomination or
denominations, callable or non-callable, and of such type, or form,
and of such period of maturity as the said County Commissioners of
Allegany County may deem advisable, and said bonds shall be signed
by the President of said County Commissioners of Allegany County
and the Treasurer of said County and have the corporate seal of said
Allegany County affixed thereto, and the principal amount of said
bonds and the interest payable thereon shall be and remain exempt
from taxation by the State of Maryland and by the counties and
municipalities of said State; provided further that if any such bonds
shall be sold the provisions of Article 31, Sections 33 and 34, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1951 Edition, as amended from time
to time) shall be complied with.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the proceeds of the bonds,
authorized by this Act, shall be expended solely for and in accordance
with the following schedule of enumerated constructions, additions,
improvements and repairs to the Allegany County school system.
1. Elementary School (8-10 rooms) to be built in the vicinity of
Bowmans addition.
2. Bruce High School to make up deficiency in available funds.
3. Cresaptown—Locker and shower rooms for boys and girls,
acoustic tile auditorium, new chairs.
i. Columbia Street—Kitchen area and new floor in auditorium.
5. Johnson Heights—Enlarge kitchen area and new equipment.
6. Flintstone-—Land, roadways, water treatment, equipment.
7. Mt. Savage—Athletic field, elementary area playground, fence,
water treatment, acoustic tile—2 areas, erosion control.
8. Rewiring and Fixtures—Barton, Beall Elementary, Allegany,
Mt. Royal.
9. Oldtown—Land, grading, fencing.
10. Allegany High School—Renovation of Home Economics De-
partment and equipment.
11. Valley High School—Control of outside water.
12. East Side—Improvements.
13. Capital Improvements—Other Schools.
SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the proceeds from the sale
of such bonds shall be placed in a special fund by the County Treas-
