CHAPTER 166
(House Bill 512)

AN ACT to add a new section to the Co'de of Public Local Laws of
Anne Arundel County (1947 Edition), being Article 2 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Anne Arundel County",
sub-title "Fire Companies", said new section to be known as Sec-
tion 329A and to follow immediately after Section 329 of said Code,
to provide for payments to the widows and children of enginemen
killed in line of duty.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a new section be and it is hereby added to the Code of Public
Local Laws of Anne Arundel County (1947 Edition), being Article 2
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Anne Arundel
County", sub-title "Fire Companies", said new section to be known
as Section 329A, to follow immediately after Section 329 of said Code,
and to read as follows:

329A. The County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County shall pay
annually to the widow of any engineman who is killed while in the
active performance of his duties one-half of the annual salary received
by him at the time of his death. The payments to the widow shall cease
upon her re-marriage or death; provided, however, if the widow does
not re-marry and dies leaving an unmarried child or unmarried
children under the age of nineteen years, the payments shall be made
to the child or children as a group, each child becoming ineligible for
further payments upon his or her nineteenth birthday.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1955.

CHAPTER 167
(House Bill 531)

AN ACT to authorize and empower the County Commissioners of
Allegany County to borrow an amount not to exceed Eight Hundred
Thousand Dollars ($800,000.00), and to issue bonds therefor, for
the purpose of constructing certain new schools, and making cer-
tain additions, improvements and repairs to existing schools in
Allegany County as more specifically enumerated herein.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the County Commissioners of Allegany County, a body corpor-
ate, in order to provide funds for the purpose of constructing certain
new schools, and making certain additions, improvements and re-
