1252                             JOINT RESOLUTIONS

Resolved, That the special commission be requested to organize
promptly and to begin its work, in order that it may report by

Maryland to name and designate U. S. Route No. 213, from Elkton,
Maryland, to the Chester River, as the "Augustine Herman High-

he was granted large tracts of land in the Bohemia River section of
Cecil County and was also made a naturalized citizen of Maryland;
and

WHEREAS, the map of Maryland which he had prepared played an
important part in settling boundary disputes with the State of
Pennsylvania; and

WHEREAS, in view of the many services rendered, not only to the
people of Maryland but to the nation, it would seem only fitting that
a permanent memorial be established commemorating these services;
and

WHEREAS, U. S. Route No. 213, from Elkton, in Cecil County, to
the Chester River, is without any local name or designation; now
therefore, be it
