fire fighting appliances for the protection of the area in which they
operate. No Volunteer Fire Company shall receive any payments
under this sub-title unless it is equipped with the fire alarm system,
approved by the County Commissioners of Anne Arundel County
and the Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis for the Sixth
District of Anne Arundel County.

328. Said payments shall be made to the treasurer of the several
Volunteer Fire Companies and to the Mayor and Aldermen of the
City of Annapolis ninety days after the tax levying period of each
year. Said payments made to the Mayor and Aldermen of the City
of Annapolis shall be made to the Treasurer of the several Volunteer
Fire Companies of the City of Annapolis ninety days after the tax
levying period of each year. The Treasurer of each of the several
Volunteer Fire Companies shall give satisfactory bond to the County
Commissioners of Anne Arundel County, excluding the City of
Annapolis, in the amount of [Two Thousand Dollars ($2,000.00)]
four Thousand Dollars ($4,000.00) before said payments shall be
made. The Treasurer of each of the several Volunteer Fire Com-
panies of the City of Annapolis shall give satisfactory bond to the
Mayor and Aldermen of the City of Annapolis in the amount of
[two thousand dollars ($2,000.00)] four Thousand Dollars
($4,000.00)
before said payments shall be made.

331. The County Commissioners are hereby authorized and em-
powered to provide such additional sums of money (not to exceed
[$2,000.00] $4,000.00 per Company) as may be necessary from time
to time for the purchase, maintenance, operation and replacement
reserve for fire fighting equipment, truck quarters and [chauffeurs']
enginemen's dormitories of such additional Volunteer Fire Companies
as may be organized, provided such companies have complied with
the requirements of this sub-title. No Volunteer Fire Company shall
be organized in any part of Anne Arundel County (outside the City
of Annapolis) without the approval of the County Commissioners of
Anne Arundel County. No Volunteer Fire Company shall be organ-
ized in the City of Annapolis without the approval of the Mayor and
Aldermen of the City of Annapolis.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1955.
