sundry bequests or devises contained in the last will and testament
of Robert Griffith, to the missionary society of the Methodist Epis-
copal church.

55. An act to make valid a deed from Jacob Weller, of John, to
Jacob Weller, B. S., Henry Kemp and George Stokes, for the use
and benefit of the church of the United Brethern in Christ, near
Mechanics town, in Frederick county, and to authorise the con-
veyance of the property therein mentioned to the regular trustees
of said church for the use aforesaid.

56. An act to authorise Ellen Connel, of Frederick county, to
acquire, hold, dispose of, and transmit real properly in this State.

67. An act to allow George Snyder, of Washington county, to
bring into this State a slave for a term of years named therein.

58. An act to incorporate the Choptank steamboat company.

59. An act to authorise James C. Douglass, late sheriff of Dor-
chester county, to close his official business in case he shall re-
move from said county.

60. An act to incorporate a society in Washington county to be
styled the Agricultural and Mechanical Association of Washington

61. An act to incorporate the trustees of the Lutherville Female
Seminary of Baltimore county.

62. An act to authorise the courts of this State to admit Andrew
P. Ward to practice law therein.

63. An act for the benefit of James G. Henning, clerk of the
circuit court for Montgomery county.

64. An act to provide for making an index of judgments and
decrees for the circuit court for Anne Arundel county, and direct-
ing the county commissioners to levy by a tax a sufficient sum to
pay for the same.

65. An act to amend an act to incorporate the Knoxville and
Middletown road company, passed January session, eighteen .hun-
dred and fifty-three.

66. An act to allow Henry Hopkins, free negro of the, State of
Missouri, to return to this State.

67. An act to authorise the Judge of the second judicial circuit, of
Maryland, to accept the bonds of William H. Worthington, cleric
of the circuit court for Howard county, and Nathaniel Duke, clerk
for the circuit court of Calvert county.

68. An act to authorise the county commissioners of Allegany
county, to levy a sum of money on the taxable property in said
county for the purpose of enclosing the new jail in said county
with a wall.

69. An act appointing trustees and authorising them to hold
property for the use of the Methodist church in the town of
