Adams, Geo. Wolf, W. Wagoner, W. M. Johnson,
John Berg, W. Crane, G. K. Tyler, J. W. Levens, R.
Fuller, A. A. Chapman, John W. Ball and F. A.
Levering and all other persons hereafter becoming
members of the corporation hereby created according to the constitution, rules and by-laws of the same are here-
by created and made and declined to be a corporation
and body politic by the name of the Baltimore Baptist
Church Extension Society, and by that name, and shall
have perpetuation, succession and be able and capable in
law to sue and be sued answer and be answered in any
court of law or of equity or in any other place what-
ever to receive by purchase, gift, devise or otherwise,
and to hold real and personal estate, and the same to
grant alien, devise, release or dispose of, to make, have
and use a common seal and the same to change or re-
new and generally to do any other act or thing neces-
sary to carry into effect, the provisions of this act, and

to promote the object of the said corporation; Pro-
vided, however, that the clear yearly value of the real
and personal estate to be held by the said corporation
shall not at any time exceed the sum of ten thousand
dollars.

Proviso.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, And it is hereby de-
clared that the objects of the said society are to secure
lots of ground within the city of Baltimore in suitable
locations for building churches or sabbath schools, to
erect or aid in erecting houses for the said purposes, to
assist public societies, churches or congregations by
loans, donations or otherwise to acquire, hold and dis-
pose of real or personal estate for the belter accomplish-
ment of the foregoing objects.

Objects.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said society
shall meet annually at such time, place and notice as
they may deem expedient for the purpose of electing of-
ficers, receiving and acting upon reports and generally
transacting the business of the said society, shall have
power to regulate the terms of admission, to pass such
by laws, rules and regulations as they may think pro-

tion or laws of the United States or of this State
or to the provisions of this act, and the same to alter,
amend or revoke at such time and in such manner as
they may prescribe.

Proviso.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the officers of
the said society shall be a president, vice president,
secretary and treasurer who must be members of regular
