and fifty-three, and that said mortgage, when so record-
ed, shall be as good and valid to all intents and pur-
pose whatsoever, as if the same had been regularly re-
corded according to law.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from the day of its passage; Provided, that no-
thing in this act contained shall be construed in any
manner to affect the rights of bona fide purchasers or
subsequent mortgages without notice.

AN ACT to incorporate the Annapolis Marine Rail
Way company.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Benjamin Linthicum, John Wal-
ton, Thomas Franklin, James Iglehart, John T.
Snowden, James Sands, James S. Franklin, Thomas
A. Mitchell, John Sands, Henry H. Bush, William H.
Johnson, Joseph Russell, Jesse Russell and Richard H.
Holland of the city of Annapolis, and their associates,
successors and assigns, he and they are hereby incorpo-
rated and made a body politic and corporate, by the
name of the Annapolis Marine Rail Way company,
and by that name to have perpetual succession and a
common seal, with power to acquire, hold and sell and
transfer estate, real, personal and mixed, to sue and be
sued, and to exercise and enjoy all the rights, powers
and privileges usually enjoyed by bodies politic and
corporate, and also the power to make and establish
rules, by-laws and regulations for their own govern-
ment, the same not being repugnant to any law of this
State or of the United States.

Incorporated.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the objects of said
corporation shall be building, repairing and cleaning
vessels, and the doing and performing such other acts as
arc usually and ordinarily done by Marine Rail Way
companies.
