AN ACT to authorise the Treasurer to refund to A.
Lingan Jarrett, a sum of money erroneously paid by
said Jarrett into the Treasury.

Authority to
pay.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assem-
bly of Maryland, That the Treasurer, be, and he is
hereby authorised and directed to pay upon the war-
rant of the Comptroller to A. Lingan Jarrett, clerk of
the circuit court for Harford county, the sum of twenty-
three dollars and seventy-five cents, the same being a
sum of money erroneously paid into the Treasury by
the said clerk on account of the Colonization fund.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect, from I he date of its passage.

CHAPTER 297.

AN ACT amendatory of the act of eighteen hundred
and fifty-three, chapter three hundred and seventy-
two, entitled an act to carry into effect in part the
eighth section of the seventh article of the Constitu-
tion, by determining the number of county commis-
sioners for the several counties therein named.

missioners.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the number of county commissioners for the
several herein named counties shall be as follows: for
Allegany five, for Anne Arundel seven, for Charles
five, for Dorchester five.
