AN ACT to authorise the Baltimore Coal Company,
incorporated by the acts of the General Assembly
of Maryland, passed in the year eighteen hundred
and forty-five, chapter one hundred and thirty-seven,
and the year eighteen hundred and fifty-three, chapter
twenty, to fix the par value of the shares of the cap-
ital stock of said company at a less sum than one
hundred dollars.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the president and directors of the
Baltimore Coal company, be and they are hereby au-
thorised and empowered to fix the par value of the
shares of stock issued or to be issued by the said com-
pany, at any sum not less than ten dollars, nor more
than one hundred dollars, which the said president and
directors may agree upon and determine, and when
the par value of the said shares shall be so fixed and
determined under the provisions of this act, the said
president and directors shall authorise certificates to be
issued therefor.

Increase of
shares.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the number of said
shares shall be proportionately increased, so that the
maximum amount of the capital stock of the said com-
pany may be issued under the provisions of this act in
shares whose par value has been so fixed and deter-
mined.

Repealed.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That so much of the
charter of said company as fixes the par value of the
shares of slock of said company at one hundred dol-
lars, and also so much of the said charter as limits the
number of shares of capital stock authorised to be is-

sued by the said company, be and the same is hereby
repealed; Provided, however, that the whole amount
of the capital stock of the said company shall not ex-
ceed the maximum amount authorised and allowed by
its said charter.
