AN ACT for the relief of the sureties on the bond of
John W. Baker, former collector of Montgomery
county.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the sureties on the official bond of
John W. Baker, former collector of Montgomery county,
be, and they ate hereby released from the payment of
interest on the State claims against said Baker; Provi-
|
|
|
|

ded, however, that the amount due for principal on said
claim, shall be paid as follows: one-half thereof on or
before the first day of June next, and the residue on or
before the first day of September next, upon the ad-
justment of said claims by the comptroller; and pro-
vided, that the said sureties shall not be released from
such interest as may be due by the tax-payer on taxes
now due by them, or which has been paid to the said
collector or his sureties, nor from the interest accruing
on the balance of principal from the first day of April,
eighteen hundred and fifty-four.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from its passage.

AN ACT to authorise the Consolidation of the Balti-
more and Susquehanna Rail Road Company with the
York and Maryland Line Rail Road Company, the
York and Cumberland Rail Road Company, and the
Susquehanna Rail Road Company, by the name of
the Northern Central Rail Way Company.
