wood, State librarian, for copies of constitution furn-
ished the Legislature by order; for payment of fees of
Louis Gassaway, register in chancery, for services ren-
dered the State; for payment of claim of John W.
Whittington, for binding records of land office; for
payment of claim of John W. Davis, for repairs on
furniture of State house; for payment of claim of P. G.
Schwrar, for articles purchased by order of Joseph J.
Stewart, Jr., chief clerk, for use of House of Delegates ;
for payment of claim of R. Welch, late sheriff of A. A.
county, for commissions not deducted on sums paid by
him into the treasury; for payment of claim of George
E. Gambrill, for services rendered in the keeping of the
public records from the death of the late clerk of court
of appeals, to the appointment of William A. Spencer;
for payment of claim of Arthur Carter, for repairs on
State engine; for payment of claim of James Hopkins,
for repairs on State house.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the treasurer on
the warrant of the comptroller, be, and he is hereby
authorised, to pay to William A. Spencer, the sum of
one hundred and sixty-four dollars and seventy cents;
to Washington Elliott, the sum of six dollars; to T. A.
Mitchell, the sum of two hundred and one dollars and
thirty-one cents; to William Harwood, sixty dollars, of
which amount forty-five dollars is for the use of Cush-
ing and Bailey, and fifteen dollars for the use of John
Murphy and company, for copies of constitution furn-
ished by order of the House of Delegates; to Louis
Gassaway, the sum of thirty-three dollars and ninety
cents; to J. W. Whittington, seven dollars and fifty
cents; to John W. Davis, seventy dollars and twenty-
five cents; to P. G. Schwrar, seventy-one dollars and
three cents; to R. Welch, twenty-seven dollars and
eighty-eight cents; to George E. Gambrill, sixty-four
dollars; to James Carter, two dollars and twenty-five
cents; to James Hopkins, two dollars and fifty cents.

Authority to

pay.

SEC. 3t And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after its passage.
