Secretary to
bond.
|
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the board of school
commissioners aforesaid, may appoint a secretary to
their board, and allow him such compensation, not over
twenty dollars, as they may think proper.
|
|
|
|
Authority to
levy.
|
SEC. 5. And be it enacted, Thai the county com-
missioners of St. Mary's county, are hereby authorised
and required at the time of levying the tax for county
purposes, for the year eighteen hundred and fifty-five,
and annually thereafter to levy upon the assessable pro-
perty of the county, the sum of ten cents in the one
hundred dollars for the purpose of sustaining the com-
mon schools of St. Mary's county, as directed by the act
to which this is supplementary.

In force.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That this act shall go in
force from its passage, and that so much of the act, to
which this is a supplement, as shall be inconsistent with
the provisions of this act, be, and the same is hereby
repealed.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the sum of eleven hundred and
eleven dollars and thirty-two cents, be, and the same is
hereby appropriated, for the payment of the claims of
William A. Spencer, for services rendered the State as
clerk of the court of appeals; for payment of Washing-
ton Elliott, for services as police officer of the hall of
State house; for payment of T. A. Mitchell, for repairs
