any justice of the peace in said city of Baltimore, make
a full statement of all receipts for weighing, from whom
received, and of all disbursements by him made to the
comptroller of the State, and shall pay over to said
comptroller all balances that shall or may be in his
hands, received by him by virtue of the provisions of
this act; he shall also keep said pens or yards and said
live stock scales in good repair, but to have no power to
change the present arrangement of said scales and pens

or yards; Provided, however , that nothing herein con-
tained shall be consulted to prevent said weighmaster
from dividing any one of said pens or yards into two or
more, should he deem such division necessary, or to
take down the elevation of the elevated walk on the
south side of said scales.

Proviso.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That every weighmaster
of live stock in the city of Baltimore, appointed by
virtue of the original act to which this is a supplement,
shall add to the condition of the bond required by said
original act to be given by every such weighmaster to
the State, the further condition that such weighmaster
shall and will in every particular, fully comply with
and perform all the acts and things required of him as
such weighmaster, by and in such manner, as to give
full force and effect to the provisions of this act.

dition.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That any weighmaster
appointed as aforesaid, shall have power to appoint and
employ a clerk at an annual salary of seven hundred
and fifty dollars, and an assistant, who shall perform
such service as said weighmaster in person or through
such clerk may require, at an annual salary of five hun-
dred dollars; said weighmaster shall also receive an
annual salary of twelve hundred dollars per annum ;
all of which said salaries shall be payable monthly out
of any monies received by such weighmaster for the
use of the State, under the provisions of this act.

Power to em-
ploy clerks.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after its passage.
