CHAPTER 211.

Mar. 10, 1854.

AN ACT to establish an additional election district in
Caroline county.

Additional
district.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That for the greater convenience of
voters in Caroline county, that an additional election
district be created by dividing of the middle and lower
election district in said county.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That from and after
the passage of this act, the following shall be the bounda-
ry line of the new election district, to be carried out by
the provisions of this act, beginning at Newhope on the
road from Federalsburg, to Upper Hunting creek, from
Newhope to run with the road known as the Walnut
Tree Road, by Friendship church to Hubbord's cross
roads, from thence with the public road by Concord
church towards the Bloomery mills, until it intersects
the public road beginning near said Concord church and
running in an easterly direction through Bennett
Todds' farm and over the camp ground branch to the
Delaware State line, thence with said State line, until
it intersects the dividing lines between Dorchester and
Caroline counties, thence with said dividing line to the
place of beginning.

Election of
constable, &c.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That at the next gene-
ral election for delegates there shall be elected by the
legal and qualified voters of said district one constable,
two justices of the peace and one supervisor of roads,
and that the said election district created by this act,
shall have all the rights and privileges allowed to other
election districts of Caroline county by virtue of the
constitution and laws of this State.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That all that portion
hereby laid off, from the said middle and lower election
district shall constitute the Federalsburg or fourth elec-
tion district and the polls shall be held at the village of
Federalsburg, in said district.
