CHAPTER 209.

Passed
Mar. 10, 1854.

AN ACT regulating the pier diem and milage of the
Judges of the Orphans court of Carroll county, the
county commissioners for Carroll county, and the
school commissioners for Carroll county.

Per diem.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That each of me judges of the orphans
court of Carroll county, each of the school commission-
ers of Carroll county, and each of the county commis-
sioners of Carroll county, shall receive an allowance of
two dollars, per diem for each and every day they shall
be respectively present during the sessions of the said
court or of the said county commissioners or school com-
missioners, for the transaction of the business of their re-
spective offices; and in addition thereto, shall be enti-

tled to receive at the rate of five cents per mile, as
often as each of the said judges or the said commis-
sioners shall attend at the city of Westminster for the
transaction of the business of their respective offices,
as itinerant compensation for every mile each of them
may travel coming from their respective places of
residence in said county, to the said city of Westmin-
ster, to attend to the public business, and in returning
therefrom, to their said respective places of residence.

Repealed.

Proviso.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts incon-
sistent with the provisions of this act, be, and the same
are hereby repealed; Provided, however, that said
charge for mileage shall not be allowed more than
once in each week.

In force.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this act shall take
effect from and after the date of its passage.
